Musambi looks unripe even when it is ready: the skin stays green-yellow rather than turning orange, which puts people off until they taste it. The flesh is pale, extremely juicy and almost free of acid, which is exactly why juice shops across Pakistan run on it and why it is the citrus most often given to someone recovering from illness.
