Blood Red Malta
بلڈ ریڈ مالٹا
Blood Red is the showpiece of the Pakistani citrus basket. Cold nights late in the season push anthocyanin into the flesh, streaking it crimson through to almost solid red in a good year. The flavour follows the colour — alongside normal orange sweetness there is a distinct raspberry note. Colour varies fruit to fruit; a paler one is not a lesser one.
