Aseel Dates

ڈھکی

Dhakki from Dera Ismail Khan is the giant of Pakistani dates: long, thick-fleshed and golden-amber, often two or three times the weight of an Aseel. It is prized as much for the look as the taste, which is why it dominates gift boxes and Ramzan hampers. Supply is limited to the D.I. Khan belt and prices reflect that every year.
