Gola
گولا
Gola is the round guava, and in Kohat it is the benchmark the others are judged against. Thin green skin, flesh that runs from white to soft pink depending on the orchard, and an aroma that fills a room from a single cut fruit. Seeds are present and hard — that is the variety, not a fault. Eat it just before it fully softens, when the perfume is at its peak.
