Grown high in Ziarat and Kalat where the cold nights set the colour, Red Delicious is the classic conical apple with five points at the base. The skin is thick and the flesh crisp and mild rather than sharp. That thick skin is a practical advantage: of all our apples this is the one that survives a long courier run in the best shape.
